It’s been far too long since I’ve gotten around to some serious writing. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy Author Strong and everything I’ve accomplished with it and everything it’s done for me. But it’s time for me to “move on” to the thing that got me to where I am today…
For a while now I’ve been bothered by the fact that I’ve been running a website dedicated to helping other writers when it’s been what feels like an eternity since I’ve really considered myself to be a writer. My work with Author Strong really took off in March of 2015 and in the 24 months since then I’ve published a grand total of two (TWO!!!) novellas.
Frankly, that’s pathetic.
We’ve made a bit of money with Author Strong (roughly enough to pay for everything we’ve done on Author Strong), but it’s a far stretch from what I can make as a writer. I’ll say that I never got into Author Strong “for the money”, though I do have to remember where my bread is buttered…
To that end, I’m returning my focus to writing fiction. I’m drafting this blog post because I’m excited about that return, and because I want to share a bit of my journey with you—both as possible motivation for other writers out there, but also in an attempt to better hold myself accountable.
One of the reasons I really don’t blog very much is because I just hate logging into the website to actually post a blog entry. With that said, I think I’ve discovered a handy way around that, so hopefully you’ll be receiving many more blog posts from me in the future. I have some exciting stuff to share already, but I’m saving it for another post. For now, I must get back to finishing another novella. My first of what will hopefully be many in 2017.
Let’s do this!
